What Is A Beat Lease?
When you lease a beat from a producer, you are granted non-exclusive rights to it. Non-exclusive rights grants you access to use the beat for your music. The producer retains exclusive rights to the beat, and may continue leasing the beat or sell exclusive rights to other artists.
Think of the beat lease as the producer “lending” you the right to use that beat, up to a fixed amount of sales. You may use the beat to create your song, and you have limited rights to it. Including a distribution limit.
A distribution limit is simply a cap on the number of copies of the song you can sell. After you’ve reached the limit, simply re-lease or make an exclusive offer on the beat to continue selling.
This means that, after leasing a beat, you may record your vocals on it to create your song, and distribute up to X copies of this song.
If you decide that you would like to own the beat at any point, you can always make an offer for the exclusive rights to the beat.
Beats are available exclusively by request and will be treated on a case to case basis.
Because you have paid the leasing fee, you are able to keep 100% of the profits that you make from your distributions, up to the distribution limit.
We also offer Custom Production Sessions for $250. In the session you will sit down with the producer of your choice and create a beat from scratch in our state of the art production studio. You will leave the session with an exclusive lease of the beat that was created.
